ADVENT DAY 23 * RACHEL MAY!

RACHEL MAY is a sewer and writer. Her book, Quilting with a Modern Slant, was named a Best Book of 2014 by Library Journal and Amazon.com, and her work has been most recently published in Michigan Quarterly, LARB, Necessary Fiction, and 1913: A Journal of Forms. A book of legends in sewing and fiction, 'The Experiments,' is forthcoming from Dusie (Spring 2015), and she's currently completing her PhD in Literature and Cultural Studies at URI.

Curatorial note: The following poems are a response to a call for poetry about
rape culture for the annual Delirious Advent Feature; the call is in turn an
immediate response to the Rolling Stone story “A Rape on Campus” about rape
culture at the University of Virginia. However, they are also part of a larger
conversation about rape in poetry communities. Curated by Jessica Smith and
Susana Gardner.
