Romy and Michele is more sparkly than Thelma and Louise. Romy and Michele is glittery nail polish, or a sequin-emblazoned-peacock t-shirt. Thelma and Louise is a plain t-shirt that’s a little rusty and smells like a saw but you don’t care. Thelma and Louise is reckless and confident. Romy and Michele are not confident, exactly; they live in a state of grace. I’ll get to that.
